With a population of almost 3.2 million people, Madrid is a real cosmopolitan city with a lively atmosphere. Here are some quick tips to make the most of it:

Santiago Bernabéu Stadium

What is the first thing on our mind when thinking about Madrid? Of course the Real Madrid, the world famous Spanish Football Club, and the famous players – Ronaldo, Zidane, David Beckham, Roberto Carlos (just to name a few). If you are a football fan yourself, you should not miss seeing their world famous stadium named after the club’s former president, Santiago Bernabéu. The stadium is huge and has a lot to see, so our advice is to take the Bernabéu tour, which is organized so you hit all the interesting spots, and are able to enjoy the audio/visual contents, Trophies Exhibition, and even have the chance to take photos at your favorite players’ locker.

Madrid City walk - culture and gastronomy

There is one really Spanish thing to do when in Spain: be social. Go out and take a walk in the city center. Enjoy the wide and crowded boulevards, go and see the Plaza Mayor, one of the biggest squares of Madrid, which used to be famous for bullfights. Take a photo with the statue of Philip III on the horseback that is located right in the middle of the square. If you get hungry you can visit the Mercado de San Miguel, which is not only famous for its elegant architecture, but all the fresh and high-quality food that it offers. The market place is open until 2 am on the weekends and they don’t just organize gastronomical events, but even concerts and cultural programs, so it could easily become your evening destination during the long Spanish summer.

 El Retiro Park

If you love nature or wish to spend some time in the green during your trips, you must visit Madrid’s most famous park, El Retiro. Laying on a 125 hectares land, consisting of several
important gardens (the Jardín de Vivaces, the Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez (classical gardens of an Andalusian style), the Jardines del Arquitecto Herrero Palacios, the Rose Garden, and the Parterre Francés), El Retiro park became famous for the oldest tree of Madrid (a cypress that is considered to be 400 years old) the gardens can be your choice for a romantic walk but it is also the best place to go if you are interested in sports, leisure, and even cultural programs – El Retiro is often selected as a venue for social events. When you have had enough of the nature, you can also visit the Palacio Real, the Royal Palace of Madrid, which is just a fifteen-minute walk from ElRetiro.

Our service also includes regular taxi services. Call us and enjoy your ride to the best places in Madrid. Taxi2madrid’s mission is to provide you the best experience for your time being in Madrid.
